The project is a remake of the 1982 film Shaukeen
directed by Basu Chatterjee, starring Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt, A. K. Hangal,
Rati Agnihotri and Mithun Chakraborty. Partly shot in Mauritius, The Shaukeens
